The Experience

You’ll fly into Midland International Airport (MAF) in Midland, TX or San Angelo Regional Airport (SJT).

Depending upon concentration and location of the animals, we will select which hunting lodge you should travel to.

Regardless of experience level, everyone will go through our safety course and orientation to aerial shooting so that we can get flying first thing in the morning.

Meals will be prepared for you, snacks and drinks are plentiful throughout the flying during the day.

We schedule a full 16 hours of flight time, weather permitting this ensures everyone will have the best opportunity for ample trigger time. Safety is our number one priority and there are weight limits per helicopter. The weight of shooters will determine whether we take one or two people out per flight. Shooter rotation is according to opportunities to shoot, rather than leaving someone out according to their luck, our format ensures everyone has equal opportunity to bring hogs and coyotes down!

We have over 2.5 million acres of leased land throughout Texas for our helicopter hog hunts. Locations are selected based on the currant concentration of hog and coyote numbers as well as landowner preferences. Generally you will fly into Midland International Airport (MAF) in Midland, TX or San Angelo Regional Airport (SJT) and depending upon the current conditions we’ll select which hunting lodge we’ll base your hunt out of.

These hogs are desert dwellers, the meat is not worth recovering. These dead hogs provide an alluring snack for the local coyotes which allows us to help manage their population numbers. We do offer mounts at an additional charge.

Our main season is mid January through the end of May annually.  Occasionally we can accommodate trips during the summer.

Our per hour average is very consistent averaging 18-20 per hour, maxing out at about 40 per hour depending upon shooting performance.

Fly into Midland International Airport (MAF) or San Angelo Regional Airport (SJT) from there you will need to rent a vehicle to travel to one of the lodges.

Shooters must be 18 years of age for safety purposes. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Weight depends on overall persons’ size, 265 pounds is the single shooter maximum.

Safety is our number one priority and there are weight limits per helicopter. The weight of shooters will determine whether we take one or two people out per flight.

Yes you can! We do require you bring your own suppressor or use one of ours.  Please note, direct impingement AR15’s do not hold up for very long in the helicopter while helicopter hog hunting. We shoot steel case ammo which runs rather dirty, a piston driven AR platform would be the only customer firearms that are allowed.

The last thing we want to do is send you away without experiencing your helicopter hog hunt. Our hunts are 2 and a half days, we schedule an extra half day of flight time to accommodate for any potential weather delays. If the weather is not going to let up, we will reschedule you at no charge. With lighter weather it is possible that a window of flight opportunity will open, and we will jump on the first opportunity we get!

Yes observers are welcome. The non-hunter daily lodging and meal charges will apply.

Proper clothing, your hunter safety certificate (if you were born on or after Sept. 2, 1971) and your hunting license. If it’s warm you’ll be fine with shorts/jeans and a short sleeved shirt. If it’s cold you’ll want wind-blocking clothing that’s warm. Don’t confuse warm with bulky though, quarters are tight so space is precious. We suggest a hat/beanie, sunglasses for the wind and gloves that allow for weapon operation.

A Texas hunting license. We will take care of the licensing online, on site. The license fee is $50.00.

If you are planning to purchase your license ahead of time, for residents you need the basic hunting license, no endorsements required. For non-residents you can get the special 5-day option which is $50.

Reservations are confirmed through a $3,000 per person deposit with the final balance due upon arrival.

Deposits are non-refundable but are transferable to the same or following season for weather. For client schedule changes or cancellations, 50% of the deposit will be forfeited and 50% may be transferred to the same or following season.
